- But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

but the word of our God endures forever. - On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.”
- An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies. - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- The name of the righteous is used in blessings,
but the name of the wicked will rot. - But I have been the Lord your God
ever since you came out of Egypt.
You shall acknowledge no God but me,
no Savior except me. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - The Lord detests lying lips,
but he delights in people who are trustworthy. - Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. - Pride brings a person low,
but the lowly in spirit gain honor. - Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
- He must become greater; I must become less.
- But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
- The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
