But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Deliver my soul, O Lord,
from lying lips,
and from a deceitful tongue. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out:
he is excellent in power, and in judgment,
and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. Many are the afflictions of the righteous:
but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. The fear of man bringeth a snare:
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. Arise, shine; for thy light is come,
and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens:
and thy glory above all the earth. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of thy name:
and deliver us, and purge away our sins,
for thy name's sake. Delight thyself also in the Lord:
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
