- If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
- No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
- I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!” - Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
- The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
- Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
- John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
- The rich can pay a ransom for their lives,
but the poor won’t even get threatened. - You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.
- But when you had eaten and were satisfied,
you became proud and forgot me.
But God is my helper.
The Lord keeps me alive! For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’Next verse!With image
