Keep (2/4)

  • Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.
  • When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
  • That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
  • A gossip goes around telling secrets,
but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.
  • The Lord keeps you from all harm
    and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
    both now and forever.
  • My child, pay attention to what I say.
    Listen carefully to my words.
    Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
  • Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
  • Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
  • May the Lord bless you
    and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
    and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
    and give you his peace.
  • Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!
  • So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.
  • Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
  • So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
  • Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
  • You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
  • So refuse to worry, and keep your body healthy. But remember that youth, with a whole life before you, is meaningless.
  • He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets.
  • For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
    and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”
  • Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
  • Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
  • My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying.
  • For the Lord loves justice,
and he will never abandon the godly.
He will keep them safe forever,
but the children of the wicked will die.
  • Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him.
  • For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy.
  • Avoid all perverse talk;
    stay away from corrupt speech.

It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.Next verse! With image
