- God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
- For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
- Train up a child in the way he should go:
and when he is old, he will not depart from it. - Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
- The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
- But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
- To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
- I made a covenant with mine eyes;
why then should I think upon a maid? - Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust:
cause me to know the way wherein I should walk;
for I lift up my soul unto thee. - For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
- I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye. - But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
- Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident. - Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.
- Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
- And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
- But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.
- I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
- Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.Delight thyself also in the Lord:
