- Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
- For a thousand years in thy sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night. - Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
- Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
- Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving.
- But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
- Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
- The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore. - My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
- Except the Lord build the house,
they labour in vain that build it:
except the Lord keep the city,
the watchman waketh but in vain. - Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
- He keepeth the paths of judgment,
and preserveth the way of his saints. - Therefore I will look unto the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation:
my God will hear me. - The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous,
and his ears are open unto their cry. - I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye. - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
- See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
- And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
- When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?
- For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Delight thyself also in the Lord:
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
