Bible Verses about 'Wrath'
- A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger. - Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath,
but righteousness delivers from death. - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
- “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
- Fools show their annoyance at once,
but the prudent overlook an insult. - Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
- My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
- Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. - Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
- ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord,
‘I will frown on you no longer,
for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord,
‘I will not be angry forever.’ - Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land,
you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility;
perhaps you will be sheltered
on the day of the Lord’s anger. - The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.Next verse!With image
