Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. Galatians 6:8	For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. eternal life Spirit harvest
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” John 8:34	Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.” addiction slavery
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. Romans 8:8	So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. dependence desires
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23	For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. eternal life reward judgment
And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Ephesians 4:26-27	“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. anger evil devil
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Acts 3:19	Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. conversion forgiveness repentance
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 1 Corinthians 15:56	The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. law idols
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Psalm 32:1	Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. forgiveness blessing
Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Ezekiel 18:30b	Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. conversion punishment
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Romans 6:1-2	What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? grace life
There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. Proverbs 14:12	There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. righteousness life thoughts
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 1 John 2:15	Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. love Father world
We have happy memories of the godly, but the name of a wicked person rots away. Proverbs 10:7	The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. righteousness blessing
Wash yourselves and be clean! Get your sins out of my sight. Give up your evil ways. Isaiah 1:16	Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil. purification evil
“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.” Isaiah 1:18	“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” forgiveness purification blood
But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. Daniel 9:5	We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. confession law
When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. Leviticus 5:5	And it shall be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he shall confess that he has sinned in that thing. confession
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. Galatians 5:16	I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Spirit desires
Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. Leviticus 5:17	If a person sins, and commits any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and shall bear his iniquity. law punishment
Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace. Romans 6:14	For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. grace law
Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverbs 14:34	Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. righteousness
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Psalm 32:5	I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. James 3:16	For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. selfishness evil

But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
