- If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
- Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love,
which you have shown from long ages past.
Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.
Remember me in the light of your unfailing love,
for you are merciful, O Lord. - Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
- Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.”
- That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
- And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
- Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.
- For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power.
- Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight! - Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you!
- Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
- There is a path before each person that seems right,
but it ends in death. - Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
- We have happy memories of the godly,
but the name of a wicked person rots away. - Wash yourselves and be clean!
Get your sins out of my sight.
Give up your evil ways. - “Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.” - But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.
- So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
- When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin.
- Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
- Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.
- Finally, I confessed all my sins to you
and stopped trying to hide my guilt.
I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.”
And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. - But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
- I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.
