  • And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
  • For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
  • Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
  • He was despised and rejected by mankind,
    a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
    Like one from whom people hide their faces
    he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
  • I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
  • I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
  • For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
  • I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
  • Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’
  • My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
  • This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
  • If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
  • It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
  • We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
  • Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
  • I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
  • Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.
  • If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.
  • So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
  • And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  • For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
  • May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
  • But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
  • But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
