| Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. | So lasst uns nun nicht schlafen wie die andern, sondern lasst uns wachen und nüchtern sein. |
| Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. | Darum tröstet euch untereinander und einer erbaue den andern, wie ihr auch tut. |
| See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. | Seht zu, dass keiner dem andern Böses mit Bösem vergelte, sondern jagt allezeit dem Guten nach, füreinander und für jedermann. |
| Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. | Seid allezeit fröhlich, betet ohne Unterlass, seid dankbar in allen Dingen; denn das ist der Wille Gottes in Christus Jesus für euch. |

| Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. | Treu ist er, der euch ruft; er wird's auch tun. |
