Obedience (2/4)

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. And every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. So that I may come to you with joy, by God’s will, and in your company be refreshed.
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart.
I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.
Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord.Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. And, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.But if a wicked person turns away from all the sins they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will surely live; they will not die.
