Life (5/6)

  • Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
  • For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
  • For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
  • As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
  • And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
  • Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
    and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
  • Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith.
  • For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
  • Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
  • For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
  • Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
  • What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
  • As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
  • And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
  • Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.
  • For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
  • And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
  • Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
  • Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
  • And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
  • I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
  • Let us search and try our ways,
and turn again to the Lord.
  • And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
  • For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
  • But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness.
