- But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

- Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop:
but a good word maketh it glad. - The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:
but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - Put away from thee a froward mouth,
and perverse lips put far from thee. - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
- For there is not a word in my tongue,
but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. - The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
the heart of the wicked is little worth. - He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - When I kept silence, my bones waxed old

but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. - Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
- If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
