Bible Verses about Debt

  • The wicked borrow and do not repay,
    but the righteous give generously.
  • Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
  • Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
  • The rich rule over the poor,
and the borrower is slave to the lender.
  • Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
  • Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
  • For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
  • Dishonest money dwindles away,
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
  • And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
  • Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act.
  • Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
  • No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.Next verse! With image
