Dependence (2/2)

  • Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
  • Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
    For each day he carries us in his arms.
  • But God is my helper.
    The Lord keeps me alive!
  • O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
    don’t let me be disgraced.
    Save me, for you do what is right.
  • But you, O Lord, are a shield around me;
    you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
  • Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.
  • From the depths of despair, O Lord,
    I call for your help.
    Hear my cry, O Lord.
    Pay attention to my prayer.
  • The Lord makes some poor and others rich;
    he brings some down and lifts others up.
  • Victory comes from you, O Lord.
    May you bless your people.
  • Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship.
    He said,
    “I came naked from my mother’s womb,
    and I will be naked when I leave.
    The Lord gave me what I had,
    and the Lord has taken it away.
    Praise the name of the Lord!”
  • Give us today the food we need.
  • Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
  • Our God is in the heavens,
    and he does as he wishes.
  • But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
  • But when you had eaten and were satisfied,
    you became proud and forgot me.
  • Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
  • You light a lamp for me.
    The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
  • I lift my hands to you in prayer.
    I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain.

Bible verse of the day

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
