he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

- These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
- Our God is in the heavens;

- But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate. - And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. - For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God? - This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
- For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night. - Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens
and founds his vault upon the earth;
who calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out upon the surface of the earth—
the Lord is his name. - And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
