Jesus (4/8)

  • Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
  • He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
    Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
  • Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
  • But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
  • Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you and insult you
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.
  • Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
  • I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
  • You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
  • If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
  • To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
  • For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
  • While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
  • I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
  • You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
  • God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
  • She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
  • You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
  • Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
  • I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
  • That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
  • Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”
  • But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
  • And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
