Jesus (5/8)

  • But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
  • And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
  • As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
  • I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
  • For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
  • Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
  • Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
  • For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
  • But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
  • Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
  • Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
  • So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
  • Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
  • Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
  • Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
  • In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
  • Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.”
  • For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
  • While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
  • Above his head they placed the written charge against him: this is jesus, the king of the jews.
  • Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.”
  • No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
  • On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”
  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
  • To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
