- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
- Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
- Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
- Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.
- A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
