- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.
- Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
- Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
- Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.
- A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
- By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.
