- In the day of prosperity be joyful,
But in the day of adversity consider:
Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,
So that man can find out nothing that will come after him. - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

“I have no pleasure in them” - I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
- Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
- As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.
- The hope of the righteous will be gladness,
But the expectation of the wicked will perish. - The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. - A wise son makes a glad father,
But a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
