| Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord. | Wees niet haatdragend. Als je iemand iets te verwijten hebt, roep hem dan ter verantwoording en laad niet omwille van een ander schuld op je door je te wreken of wrok te blijven koesteren. Heb je naaste lief als jezelf. Ik ben de HEER. |

| And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing. | De betreffende persoon moet, zodra hij zich van zijn schuld bewust wordt, openlijk uitspreken wat hij misdaan heeft. |

| And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine. | Wees heilig omwille van mij, want ik, de HEER, ben heilig en ik heb jullie van de andere volken onderscheiden om mijn volk te zijn. |

| Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings. | Zes dagen kun je werken, maar de zevende dag is het sabbat, een dag van volstrekte rust, die je als heilige dag samen moet vieren. Je mag die dag geen enkele bezigheid verrichten. Waar je ook woont, het moet een rustdag zijn die aan de HEER gewijd is. |

| And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. | Wie zonder het te weten zondigt tegen een van de geboden van de HEER en schuld op zich laadt door iets te doen dat niet toegestaan is, is strafbaar. |

| Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. | Neem steeds mijn sabbat in acht en heb eerbied voor mijn heiligdom. Ik ben de HEER. |

| If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. | Als jullie mijn bepalingen opvolgen, je aan mijn geboden houden en ze naleven, zal ik jullie op gezette tijden regen schenken, zodat het land opbrengst geeft en de bomen vrucht dragen. |

| Therefore shall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the Lord. | Houd je aan mijn voorschriften en leef ze na. Ik ben de HEER. |
