- The one who gets wisdom loves life;
the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper. - When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
- Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun. - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
- For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
- Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
- Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.
- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
- The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.” - For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
- My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity. - This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
- Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
- “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.
- He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
- For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
- For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
- Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
- You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
- Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
- You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.
