Obedience (2/4)

And every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. And that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other. So that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company.
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, in order to keep you from doing whatever you want.
And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. The world is passing away and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God continues to live forever.
Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart. My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart.
I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.I hurried and did not delay To keep Your commandments.
And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
‘I am the Lord your God,’ I told them. ‘Follow my decrees, pay attention to my regulations, and keep my Sabbath days holy, for they are a sign to remind you that I am the Lord your God.’I am the Lord your God; walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances and follow them. Sanctify My Sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between Me and you, so that you may know that I am the Lord your God.
You must faithfully keep all my commands by putting them into practice, for I am the Lord.So you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the Lord.
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.Who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does.
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine.
Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“Return to Me,” declares the Lord of armies, “that I may return to you,” says the Lord of armies.
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.Listen, my son, and accept my sayings, And the years of your life will be many.
So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.”
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choice of you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him.
So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience.
If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, then I shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you.

Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
