| Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. | Adquiere sabiduría, adquiere inteligencia, no te olvides de ella ni te apartes de las razones de mi boca. |
| The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight. | Sabiduría ante todo, ¡adquiere sabiduría! Sobre todo lo que posees, ¡adquiere inteligencia! |
| Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many. | Escucha, hijo mío, recibe mis razones y se te multiplicarán los años de tu vida. |
| I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness. | Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, por veredas derechas te he hecho andar. |
| My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. | Hijo mío, está atento a mis palabras; inclina tu oído a mis razones. Que no se aparten de tus ojos; guárdalas en lo profundo de tu corazón. |
| Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. | Sobre toda cosa que guardes, guarda tu corazón, porque de él mana la vida. |
| Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. | Aparta de ti la perversidad de la boca, aleja de ti la iniquidad de los labios. |
| Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. | Que tus ojos miren lo recto y que tus párpados se abran a lo que tienes delante. |
| Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. | Examina la senda que siguen tus pies y sean rectos todos tus caminos. |
| Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil. | No te desvíes a la derecha ni a la izquierda; aparta tu pie del mal. |
