- The Lord redeems the life of his servants;

and at the last he will stand upon the earth. - Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
- For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
- Salvation belongs to the Lord;

- For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,

and to revive the heart of the contrite.” - How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- But as for me, I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
my God will hear me. - Restore us, O Lord God of hosts!
Let your face shine, that we may be saved! - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. - And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
