- Because I delivered the poor who cried out,
The fatherless and the one who had no helper.
The blessing of a perishing man came upon me,
And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. - A wise son makes a glad father,
But a foolish son is the grief of his mother. - By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
- So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
- You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
- But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- Hear my prayer, O Lord,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were. - Children’s children are the crown of old men,
And the glory of children is their father. - And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
- Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend,
Nor go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity;
Better is a neighbor nearby than a brother far away. - For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
- Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’ - And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.
- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
- But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
- If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.
- But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice,
And he who begets a wise child will delight in him. - No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- I thank You and praise You,
O God of my fathers;
You have given me wisdom and might,
And have now made known to me what we asked of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s demand. - Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
And they divided His garments and cast lots. - Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
