Father (2/4)

  • Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
  • Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
  • “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
  • Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
  • Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
  • Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
  • For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.
  • Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
  • Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
  • And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
  • Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
  • This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
  • Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
  • Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
  • And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
  • To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
  • This, then, is how you should pray:
    ‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.’
  • Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
  • No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
  • I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
  • Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
  • The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
  • Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
  • But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
  • As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
