- So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
- About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
- But when they had grazed, they became full,
they were filled, and their heart was lifted up;
therefore they forgot me. - And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
- Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.
- Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host. - For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
- And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
- For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
- When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
- For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
- But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
- Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God. - All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
- In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
- There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call.
- Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
- Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask this. - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
- For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.
- God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
- And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
