- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.
- Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. - Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
- Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path. - He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
- At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said:
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
may the name of the Lord be praised.” - If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
- The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it. - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
- To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.
- Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
- They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
- For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.
- And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
- While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
- To fear the Lord is to hate evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil behavior and perverse speech. - For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
- And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen. - The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. - We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!
- Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
- Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all. - For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
