- Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified.
- Let no one delude himself. If anyone among you considers himself to be wise by worldly standards, he must become a fool in order to be truly wise.
- I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have life. - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not allow myself to be dominated by anything.
- But what I tell you is this: Do not swear at all, either by heaven, since it is God’s throne, or by earth, since that is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King.
- When Jesus heard this, he said, “Do not be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be saved.”
- If anyone wishes to serve me,
he must follow me.
Where I am,
there also will my servant be.
If anyone serves me,
my Father will honor that person. - Do not succumb to the love of money, but be content with what you have, for God has said, “I will never forsake you or abandon you.”
- I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything impossible for me to accomplish?
- Recognizing that laws are not designed for the upright. They are for the lawless and insubordinate, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and irreligious; they are for those who slay their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for those who are fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which has been entrusted to me.
- For I resolved that, while I was with you, I would know nothing except Jesus Christ—and him crucified.
- Owe nothing to anyone except the debt of love you owe one another. The one who loves others has fulfilled the Law.
- I am the gate.
Anyone who enters through me
will be saved.
He will go in and out
and will find pasture. - Let us then make every effort to enter into that rest, so that no one may fall by following that example of refusing to believe.
- Can anyone withhold the water of baptism from these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
- And thus we can have confidence in him
that if we ask anything
that is in accordance with his will,
he hears us. - If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
- While experiencing temptation, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
- On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out,
“If anyone is thirsty,
let him come to me and drink.” - Consequently, anyone united to Christ is a new creation. The old order has passed away. Behold, all has become new.
- Do not love the world
or what is in the world.
If anyone does love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him. - For all of us fall short in many ways. Anyone who never makes a mistake in speech has reached perfection and is able to control every part of his body.
- Can someone hide in a secret place
so that I cannot see him?
Do I not fill heaven and earth? - Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone.
Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. Rather, I shall acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels. Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God.Next verse! With image
