- In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.
- To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.
- Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- A fool's lips walk into a fight,
and his mouth invites a beating. - My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. - For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek me and live.”
- For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
- If you turn at my reproof,
behold, I will pour out my spirit to you;
I will make my words known to you. - I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
- Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
- Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
