- So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
- For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief. - But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.
- For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
- Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice. - Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
- But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.

that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit. - I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
- Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
- For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
- Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
- But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
- He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
- Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
- For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. - A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word! - Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy. - Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
- Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
