Hebrews 13:2 (2/2)

Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
And let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen.Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise.
Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us.Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
Looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
For the moment, all discipline seems not to be pleasant, but painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

As for God, His way is blameless;
The word of the Lord is refined;
