- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
- Do not envy the oppressor,
And choose none of his ways;
For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord,
But His secret counsel is with the upright. - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
- Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. - A fool vents all his feelings,
But a wise man holds them back. - Who “will render to each one according to his deeds”
- Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments. - Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:
THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. - As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
- The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
- And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ” - And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
- And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
- A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows. - But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
- For the word of the Lord is right,
And all His work is done in truth. - For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
- But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
- God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.”
- That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
- By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
