- Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

and a word in season, how good it is! - How much more valuable is a human being than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.

and my feet did not slip. - Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
He was revealed in flesh,
vindicated in spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among Gentiles,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory. - How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
- I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
- But I say to you, Do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
- On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.”
- How much better to get wisdom than gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. - Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions of them to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is holy to our Lord; and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
- Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins.
- Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.
- Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
- So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. - And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we abound in love for you.
- Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world.
- Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
- Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us.
- And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
- You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us.
- And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
- And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
