- Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
- These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
- Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.
- The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
- Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
- The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters. - Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. - Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
- Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God. - Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
- But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
- For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more. - Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted. - There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.
- When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze. - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
- I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. - I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
- Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
- Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
- Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God. - Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
- Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. - Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.
- “Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.Next verse!With image
