- And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
- The father of a righteous child has great joy;
a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. - Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
but the prudent hold their tongues. - Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.” - But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
- But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
- Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
- I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
- Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”
- Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - Who is wise? Let them realize these things.
Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the Lord are right;
the righteous walk in them,
but the rebellious stumble in them. - You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness;
it will be for those who walk on that Way.
The unclean will not journey on it;
wicked fools will not go about on it. - Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
- A gossip betrays a confidence,
but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. - Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city. - Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
- The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
- There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
- The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.Next verse!With image
