- Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
- Righteousness exalteth a nation:
but sin is a reproach to any people. - In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
but he that refraineth his lips is wise. - He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
- But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed. - But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
- For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
- Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee. - He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul;
but he that despiseth his ways shall die. - Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
- But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
- Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
- For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
- To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
- Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
- The way of the Lord is strength to the upright:
but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. - Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.
- I have blotted out, as a thick cloud,
thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:
return unto me;
for I have redeemed thee. - Who is a God like unto thee,
that pardoneth iniquity,
and passeth by the transgression
of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever,
because he delighteth in mercy. - This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
- In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
- I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
- Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
The wicked worketh a deceitful work:
but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.Next verse!With image
