- A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - A talebearer revealeth secrets:
but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - He that hideth hatred with lying lips,
and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. - Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
- Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - The words of a talebearer are as wounds,
and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us,
but unto thy name give glory,
for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.Next verse!With image
