Spirit (2/3)

  • The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
  • And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
  • And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
  • For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
  • In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
  • And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
  • For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
  • While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
  • And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
  • For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
  • Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
  • But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
  • For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.
  • Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form, like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
  • Eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  • I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
  • Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • Create in me a clean heart, O God,
    and renew a right spirit within me.
  • I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
  • If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
  • And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
  • These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.
  • Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.
  • When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
  • That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
