Bible Verses about Truth

  • Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
    and speak the truth from their heart;
    who do not slander with their tongue,
    and do no evil to their friends,
    nor take up a reproach against their neighbors.
  • Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.
  • I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
  • Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
  • If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true.
  • Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  • But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.
  • Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all day long.
  • Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.
  • The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable,
    but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse.
  • Keep your tongue from evil,
    and your lips from speaking deceit.
  • Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
  • Every word of God proves true;
    he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
  • I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
    I set your ordinances before me.
  • God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
  • Above all, my beloved, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “Yes” be yes and your “No” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
  • In fulfillment of his own purpose he gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would become a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
  • As for you, the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and so you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.
  • And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
  • Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,
    but those who act faithfully are his delight.
  • For the word of the Lord is upright,
    and all his work is done in faithfulness.
  • Put away from you crooked speech,
    and put devious talk far from you.
  • It does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
  • Nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.

And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.
