Proverbs 13 - ESV & NIV

Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.
By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.
Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
