Proverbs 13 - NRSV & ESV

Those who guard their mouths preserve their lives; those who open wide their lips come to ruin.Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
Wealth is a ransom for a person's life, but the poor get no threats.The ransom of a man's life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.
By insolence the heedless make strife, but wisdom is with those who take advice.By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.
Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle, but those who gather little by little will increase it.Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
