- The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and merciful in everything he does. - So shall my word be
that issues forth from my mouth.
It will not return to me unfulfilled,
but it will accomplish my purpose
and achieve what I sent it forth to do. - O Lord, do not withhold your mercy from me;
may your kindness and your truth keep me safe forever. - The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
but destruction for evildoers. - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
- For your kindness extends to the heavens;
your faithfulness, to the skies. - He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress, so that I stand ever unshaken. - I am now about to go the way of all upon the earth. You know very well in your hearts and your souls that not one of the good things that the Lord, your God, promised you has failed to take place. Every promise has been fulfilled, not one of them has been broken.
- He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
and all of his ways are just.
He is a God of truth who does no wrong;
he is just and upright. - The Lord loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is filled with his kindness. - Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - The proud man’s heart is not upright,
but the righteous man will live
because of his faith. - Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- Indeed, the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants, the prophets. - God is not human, that he should lie,
or the son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act,
does he promise and then not fulfill it? - I will not leave you orphans;
I will come to you. - This saying can be trusted:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him. - For who is God except the Lord?
Who is a rock aside from our God? - Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single letter, not even a tiny portion of a letter, will disappear from the Law until all things have been accomplished.
- Rend your hearts and not your garments,
and turn back to the Lord, your God.
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing. - Teach me your ways, O Lord,
so that I may walk in your truth;
let me worship your name
with an undivided heart. - You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- A truthful witness does not lie,
but a false witness lies incessantly. - May the Lord, our God, be with us, just as he was with our fathers; may he not leave us or abandon us.
- The Lord abhors lying lips,
but he delights in those who are truthful.
