Be strong and courageous. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. | Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. |
Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. | He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. |
‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ | They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. |
