| Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted. | My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. | Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh. | Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord. |
| For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. | For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but worldly grief produces death. |

| “Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked?” says the Lord Yahweh, “and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?” | Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live? |
| Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God, of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. | Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. |
