Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? | I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. |
The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for that is the whole duty of everyone. | That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. |
There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor? | God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor? |
Praise the Lord! Happy are those who fear the Lord, who greatly delight in his commandments. | Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. |
