| For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? | For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? |
| All day long the wicked covet, but the righteous give and do not hold back. | He covets greedily all day long, But the righteous gives and does not spare. |
| Over his head they put the charge against him, which read, “This is Jesus, the King of the Jews.” | And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. |
